Take a bus from Musashi-Itsukaichi Station on the JR Itsukaichi Line and get off at the Kamikawanori bus stop. From the village of Kamikawanori along the Minami Akigawa Valley, go up through a forest of cedars and cypresses. When the surroundings change to a bright mixed forest, Sengenrei is close by. When you reach the Sengenrei Plaza (toilet and rest area), there is a small observation deck on the right. From the observation deck, you can see Mt. Fuji and Sasaone. If the weather is good, you can take a leisurely break here. When you reach the Sengen Ridge, the road starts downhill. This ridge road is an old official road called Koshu Nakamichi, and while it was important as the Koshu Kaido in the Middle Ages, it was also used as a residential road. If you go down along a narrow stream, you will come to a large old house called "Setozawa no Ikkenya". Just past here, you will come to a forest road. Follow the forest road, which also serves as a course for forest bathing, to Tokisaka Pass. From the pass, walk alternately along mountain paths and village paths, and soon you will come to a large parking lot. From here, Hossawa Falls is very close. Once you see the falls, head to the "Hossawa no taki iriguchi" bus stop.
